A wonderful little hotel

We have stayed twice, both ocassions it was a very fine experience. Monsieur Eric is a very charming man, the staff is efficent and very patient with our questions and requirements. Prices are just right, specially if you stay for two weeks or more, as we did.
Although not in the heart of the 5th arrondisment, this hotel is very well located, quite near the Cardinal Lemoine and the Jussieau metro station, within walking distance from the Seine, Notre Dame, the Natural History Museum, the Panteon, etc. and very near small shops of all types (groceries, bakeries, flowers, restaurants, etc, like in any non-tourist city) , unlike the ones at the center of the district, which is more tourist oriented and you can have a hard time locating inexpesive stores.
Here you can feel like a true parisien, not a tourist, like forming in line to buy bread; you have to do it fast, no time for hesitation, unless you want to suffer cursing from the other buyers, it may sound awful, but it’s funny and it’s the real Paris.
We were lucky enough to see the skaters parade (certain days of the year, the city closes streets to allow roller skaters to run across the streets, quite a show!)
The rooms are very clean, size is ok for a Paris hotel, but certainly not small like other hotels we’ve stayed. The breakfast is petite (that’s why it’s called Petite Dejeneur) but delicious, specially the baguettes (there are no baguettes like the ones from Paris) and the hot chocolate.
The hotel it’s just a block or two away from the tuesday market, I dare you to find a better gourmet market in the city! I strongly recommend the “Petite Pergourdine” brand pathe and the cheeses, made by independent makers. Fresh trouffles are plenty (and expensive).
In short, highly recommended!
